GIGABYTE B550M AORUS ELITE AX (rev 1.3) AM4 AMD B550 Micro-ATX Motherboard with Single M.2, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.2 Gen 1, Realtek GbE LAN, PCIe 4.0
Quality
Recommended definitely.
Pros: Installed easily. Running a Ryzen 5 5600 and 32GB DDR4. Replaced an older Gigabyte mobo in my wife's desktop. Having built and upgraded desktops many times over the years I'vd found it pays to buy the better model from a given manufacturer. Better features, better parts.
Cons: It's a mini board takes DDR4, so more about cost effectiveness than record speed.

Bangin'
Everything worked out of the box with a R5 5500. No issues noted.

Impressive motherboard
I haven't build my own PC in over a decade. But, I would recommend this board. Especially when on sale. I've been using for a few weeks now and not one problem. Probably not the most Bleeding edge motherboard, but very stable and functional. I do use it for light gaming and intend to set it up as an everyday driver in the near future. I using Nobara Linux currently, so it is Linux compatible. Something that had me worried.
Pros: Worked with my 5800x CPU without a bios update. Fit nicely in my case (Zalman). Easy to connect and insert other components (Memory, CPU cooler, M.2 drive 6600 GPU) Doesn't feel flimsy or fragile. Posted and booted on the first try. The Bluetooth is awesome
Cons: Shield on the back panel was a very tight fit with fan mounted in the case. I didn't have to remove it, so all is good. Could just be the case design, but I wanted the exhaust fan just above the board and inline with the CPU cooler.

Does the job well and it arrived fast
I do like this motherboard, it does the job while having a few modern features like WiFi and Bluetooth to get things going. Perfect board for a first pc build or if you have an extra AM4 cpu to bring back to life
Pros: -Good price for a name brand -Good WiFi and Bluetooth -AM4 5000 series ready
Cons: No usb c ports, there is literally a dvi port and a ps2 port despite being near archaic.

Solid AM4 Board!
So far after two weeks this board has been rock solid! I debated various boards for my build and then when this went on sale during Black Friday for cheaper than a lower end but similar spec Gigabyte board I went for it, and Ive had no regrets. Everything has been stable, thermals look good on the board too. It had the latest BIOS version out of the box which was nice to see. It also has Q-Flash, nice to see at this price point. The Wifi/BT card is a RealTek RTL8852CE. I havent done much testing with the wifi since I use ethernet, but the bluetooth has been very reliable and stable for my keyboard and controller. I have not personally checked it, but looking at the manual and looking at videos of other similar/related boards, the built in Wifi/BT is a standard M.2 NGFF slot on a carrier, hidden underneath the VRM/heatsink shroud and can be replaced in the future to upgrade or switch from RealTek to Intel/other brands. Audio is RealTek ALC897 if that matters to anyone. I have to turn down my powered speakers and turn up the volume on the PC to get clean sound with no noise, but that could also be my sound setup since its got multiple inputs and needs a ground loop isolator. The PCIe slot layout is kinda bad, but most Gigabyte mATX boards are sadly like this. If you use a dual slot or even generally thick at all GPU, it will block the other two PCIe slots preventing you from using them for any other cards. If you dont plan on using any other expansion cards youll be fine, or if youll only use the iGPU and need a USB card or something thatd be fine too. You might be able to do some DIY jank with a riser but Im not sure. Ive seen some reports of driver issues but mine was flawless. I went the lazy route and installed the Gigabyte Control Center (GCC) and let it find and install drivers and the RGB software, and everything worked instantly, not even needing a restart. If youre having trouble with direct installation of the Wifi/BT drivers definitely try that option. It l
Pros: - Built in Wifi/BT - Built in I/O Shield - Sufficient rear I/O - Premium looking heatsink shroud - Preinstalled M.2 screws is super convenient - Shipped with latest BIOS version - Two M.2 slots + 4 SATA ports for storage
Cons: - Poor PCIe slot layout if using dual slot GPU - Potentially troublesome drivers (I had no issues but see review for solutions/suggestions) - Only 1Gb LAN (I dont care, but some might) - No USB-C

Easy to build with, straightforward mobo with some caveats
I just recently built a PC for a friend of mine for the holidays using this motherboard. Overall, my experience has been generally positive. Assembling a PC with this motherboard was a breeze, thanks to its Ryzen 5000 compatibility right out of the box and a user-friendly BIOS that simplifies tuning and overclocking. The inclusion of a PCIE 5.0 slot and an abundance of USB connectivity adds a layer of future-proofing that I appreciate. However, the absence of boot indicators on the motherboard is a notable drawback, leaving users without visual cues during the boot process. Additionally, the lack of built-in heat sinks for M.2 slots and the absence of a USB-C case socket might be minor inconveniences for some, but they can be addressed with affordable workarounds. It's worth mentioning that the motherboard surprisingly lacks a manual in the box. First-time builders might want to choose another board if they aren't sure about what they're doing. Despite its flaws, this mobo is a solid choice for people seeking simplicity, reliable performance, and functionality over flashy features. I'd give it 4.5/5 stars if I could, but I felt the need to round down for a B550 mobo. I just wanted a little bit more out of it, especially for its price!
Pros: - Ryzen 5000 ready out of the box - Aorus bios is straightforward (although the fan curve auto optimizer might not work if I understand the UI correctly) - Very straightforward bios for tuning and overclocking - boots quick and easy to build with, MOSFET heat sinks are unobtrusive - PCIE 5.0 slot! - More USB connectivity than you'll know what to do with
Cons: - No boot indicators on the mobo of any kind? While I hope never to encounter any boot issues, I noticed there are no indicator lights on the board of any kind and potentially no internal indicator speaker. Nothing to show that power is going to the board, nothing to indicate what phase of the boot the board is in as it's POST-ing. - No built-in heat sinks for the M.2 slots, but not a huge deal breaker, a $5-$10 fix - NVIDIA ReBAR is tricky to find in the bios and may be prone to causing boot issues (not sure yet if this will be a problem for me) - No USB-C case socket, again not a major dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind. 9-pin USB 2.0 to USB-C Adapters are ~$8-$10 at the time of posting, but keep in mind this won't run at the typical USB-C speeds - No manual in the box

WiFi NOW Working
Excellent motherboard but instructions lacking.
Pros: Like the motherboard features except the M2B slot hidden under the video car. Would be nice to have another USB 2.0 on the board.
Cons: WiFi not working was my fault! When the Anorus APP page appears when loading Win 10, you have to expand the Driver Header and select all drivers to install from Gigabyte. Once done everything works as expected.
