Over all Gigabyte's A16 Pro Gaming Laptop is an absolute win when it comes to portable and powerful hardware. Where previously I could only run games satisfactorily on my desktop, I can now take my gaming with me on my travels. Whether that's to the living room to game it up on the couch instead of slouched over on an office chair, or across the country to wind down after a day of travels. It makes it easy and accessible to game when and where i please. With all the hardware power to support stellar visuals that are even better than my desktop pc in some instances due to the quality display screen built into this bad boy. As a year where I want to travel the world more, this is a great comfort to know i can bring an important aspect of what makes me feel at home with me.

Pros: -The quality of build. The weight, overall feel and profile make this laptop feel like a satisfying slate tablet. I wouldn't go around using it as such, but I know in a pinch it would easily take down a few zombies np as an improvised weapon. -The display is so clean and detailed. I play with this hooked up to my 4k 85" tv mostly. But when I can't and I need to use the built in display. My gosh. Is it crisp and has small details and effects that aren't as apparently on the 4k -The efficiency as a material item to own. This thing makes taking pc gaming on the go such a breeze. Jumping from answering emails, or working on projects in various creative sweets, it is at it's foundation an excellent piece of gaming hardware. Cons: -While i do enjoy the weight of the laptop, it does make it a bit unwieldy to move around with the lid open. Its a small set back. I would rather have this than a laptop that felt too light and was easier to carry around in the limited times i need to move areas without closing the lid. -I'm not a big fan of where the charge cable port is placed. in the middle of the i/o ports on the left side. I'm sure there are engineering/cooling reasons for it being this way. Even so, i find it is often thought process on how to position the laptop especially when hooking it up to a secondary display. -I do wish there were just a couple more usb-a and usb-c ports. 3 is pretty standard I think. Play it ALL!

This is a Gaming BEAST, with compromises! The A16 Pro will quite literally play Anything at Very High/Ultra (as well it should) with its 2560x1600 display! The screen is incredibly clear and vibrant! The 165hz 2560x1600 screen on this Laptop is one of the best I have ever seen, Color saturation and NIT Brightness will be hard to beat! I will say the 16:10 aspect ratio is strange when you are used to 16:9. but This display is a Stunner! Connecting to this display is either Intel Xe Graphics (64 Compute Units) on the Core 7 240h, (Optimus) or the BEASTLY Nvidia RTX 5080m with 16gb GDDR7! While not a full RTX 5080, (Roughly 38% lower performance than its Desktop counterpart) you would be hard pressed to find a better Dedicated GPU for a Gaming laptop at 115w, and NVIDIA DLSS 4 it is a Powerhouse! As for the Intel Core 7 240h, You have a 10 core package with 6 Performance cores and 4 Efficiency cores, a most efficient processor. Based on the older Raptor lake I7 13xxxH processors, it does Ok, TDP is lower, than the Previous Core I H Series, Performance Is just fine for gaming and content creation if you ask me. The Golden Curve Keyboard looks great, feels nice and does the job well, the but is nothing too impressive, a notch above keyboards from makers such as Acer(Nitro gaming). Wifi-6e performance is above par. NVME speeds are Just OK, two PCIe 4.0 x4 slots but the second slot runs at about half the speed of the installed drive. Would have preferred a 5.0 Slot at this price point as well. the A16 Pro is honestly surprisingly quiet with the WINDFORCE INFINITY EX Fan system, I love that you can change the fan profile with a click of a button. Battery life with the 72wh battery is on par with any other gaming laptop. The A16 pro Defaults To Intel Xe Graphics while on battery, and turns off the RTX 5080 All together unless you Re-enable it in the GiMate software. Which brings me to GiMate software! It is a novel concept, but still feels half baked, half the time it does n

Great For Gaming & Video Editing

From gamers to content creators. This laptop is definitely for you. As a multi-tasker, I like to record my gaming footage, edit and render in it's highest quality. I had no issues doing either of them with this laptop. The display is beautiful. While testing the display and playing games like Hades II, Lumines Arise and Tetris Effect: Connected, the colors are so vibrant and so with the 165hz refresh rate, it plays so smooth! While there is a RTX 5080 inside the laptop, the MUX switch is important to learn. You can switch from energy saving to high performance. Definitely Invest in a 2nd M.2 Drive for content and games. With all of the games out today, the 1TB will not hold them all. Especially if you record at it's highest quality. The RAM is upgradable to 64GB. 32GB is good but 64GB is GREAT. I love this laptop and cannot wait to create great things with it.

Great Performance & Priced Right

The GIGABYTE Gaming A16 Pro is easily one of the most powerful laptops Ive owned. The Intel Core 7 240H paired with the RTX 5080 runs modern games smoothly and also handles editing and multitasking without issue. The 16-inch 2560x1600 165Hz display looks great. Everything feels fluid, colors are vibrant, and the 16:10 aspect ratio is genuinely useful for productivity. The screen can also lay flat, which is a nice bonus. No touchscreen, for anyone wondering. The 1TB SSD is fast, 32GB of RAM is plenty, and the build quality feels solid. Fan noise does get loud under heavy load, which is expected, and battery life is average. The RTX 5080 is limited to a 115W TGP, so its not fully maxed out compared to higher-power implementations (up to 175W), and the single USB-C port being limited to 5 Gbps feels a bit dated. More I/O would definitely help. Overall, if you can grab this at a good price like we did at the time of review, its a strong value for gaming and creative work. Im not seeing anything cheaper with the same CPU and GPU combo right now.

Pros: The laptop runs very well and proves its worth in many high-end games with enhanced graphics. It has a great framerate and is pretty mobile as a gaming PC, as long as you have it plugged in. The GPU also has more VRAM than lower end GPUs which allows the laptop to not stagger in performance educing gaming.

Cons: Another type-c port would be useful, and the design of the laptop makes some things hard to plug in considering there is a lip over the connectors. Otherwise, laptop is designed nicely.
